My old chairs

While I have been traveling all over the world, I have been taking some souvenirs with me from different kind of cultures. For example some of these chairs are from France and some are from Sweden. And of course these gorgeous chairs were old and very shabby because they had served their purpose for a long time. I might also add that they were all brown. I took all these chairs to our summer house and painted them in beautiful calm, bright and fresh colors. With a little bit of work, you can convert any old funiture into a designer piece, which is unique and surely unrecognizable.

Don’t turn your back on old furniture.

My garden

I am a person who usually looks at the bright side of life, accepting everything with a smile and I always have something going on around me. Something that works like a therapy for me is being in the nature, or in my own garden with my kids. I really love to get them involved with everything that is “green”, like how to take care of the flowers in the garden, how much water our lemon tree need etc.

I always say that Mother Nature is for free and always available as therapy for all of us. Nature is a place for relaxation and spa for me, a place to go to and find inner peace. We all need the fresh air and exercise to feel good so my dear; go out there and take care of yourself and when you take care of yourself then you can handle anything. Do what you love. Feel what you exactly need, and listen to it. Be kind to yourself because you are the only one who can.

Here are some pictures from earlier today from our garden. I had two phenomenal assistants, my babies.

Wood Wick fragrant candle is from Virginia Candles which is one of the largest American light manufacturers. They are of course well known and popular because of it’s high quality and great fragrances, the minimum size is burning in the entire 40 hours. Meaning that the candles have a long burn time – fantastic.  These unique candles comes with luxurious design where glass meets wood.

These candles are just perfect to give away to someone special or for Valentine’s Day. A gift for yourself as everyday luxury in your home.

Oh, did I forget to mention that its wooden wick also crackles like a fireplace to keep you feeling cozy?! Breathtaking.

Modern retro is really growing in popularity especially this year. Dutch Serax has launched a new collection of ’70s-influenced rustic, unglazed and glazed ceramics. The passion and love for food has brought Serax and the top chef Sergio Herman together for collaboration and creativity of this gorgeous collection.

Sergio say that the collection is a very personal project for him, the result of years of desire to create and surprise. His inspiration comes from nature of Zeeland with its rough textures and beautiful imperfections. The collections has it all and every surface tells a story.

Today I found a very modern house that is located in Cancoon, Mexico. The architect, Carlos Armando del Castillo A, has made an amazing job combining both industrial and modern architecture into one. The material used for this project is mainly concrete in different forms, polished and glossed in the interior floors and raw polished in the exterior.

The house plan, both indoor and outdoor, is very open and welcoming and it flows seamlessly between the rooms and the outdoors. This house is however not for a family with small children, but if you have older children or are a couple without children it really is a perfect home with a lot of inviting light.

Overall it is a perfect house for gatherings, events and hanging out with friends.

French Apartment in LYON

I’m just amazed by images of this gorgeous apartment in Lyon, a French goodie. I really had to share it with you guys and I hope that you get inspired and astonished.

This goodie belongs to Stéphane Garotin and Pierre Emmanuel Martin. The beautiful original parquet floors are just heavenly for me.

Please have a look and enjoy the party.

Fanny and Pascal François lives near Lille, in France, in an old Waffle Factory.

This couple has transformed this factory building, for a new generation, into a beautiful, modern family apartment with industrial character. The interior style is very Scandinavian and of course with a 1950s industrial touch. The loft has a softness that gives off a relaxed, welcoming vibe and it really looks cozy and different.

With the help of the firm Bo Architectures; François wanted demolish all the unnecessary walls and  create a large open space for the kitchen, dining room and living room. They are now situated in one large open space. The result is absolutely breath taking.

Pantone – Color Report

I’m a summer girl. I really love how summer makes med feel. The bright colors and not talk about the sun. Don’t get me wrong, I love winter too but if I had to choose I would say summer any time. There is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kind of weather. So my beautiful friend always bring your own sunshine, wherever you are or wherever you go, no matter what the weather is. Always put a big smile on that beautiful face of yours.

Quite recently I read a fashion color Report for the spring 2016 and the executive director of the Pantone Color Institute Leatrice Eiseman said:

“Colors this season transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves. With our culture still surrounded by so much uncertainty, we are continuing to yearn for those softer shades that offer a sense of calm and relaxation.”

Pantone has for the first time in 15 years I believe chosen two colors of the year. The duo chosen is Serenity and Rose Quartz. A blue palette and a very soft pink.

“Joined together, Serenity and Rose Quartz demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace,” said Leatrice Eiseman in a press release.

My handsome husband loves to surprise me and just the other day he came home with this gorgeous Swarovski champagne bottle. Let me tell you boy he surprised me, like he always does.

You can of course have one or several beautiful bottles as interior detail in your home. You can always buy Swarovski crystals and personalize a bottle   with your message to that special one. Who wouldn’t appreciate the effort…

So treat yourself or someone you love with similar bottle. I know I will, why?! Because i’m worth it and so are you.

Cheers and love/T

In my earlier post I wrote about how trendy marble is in the interior world. My favorite New York City-based design studio, Apparatus by Jeremy Anderson and Gabriel Hendifar, has recently launched a new collection of Italian marble; NEO. The Neo Marble line comes with a beautiful large bowl, and a lamp in three different sizes, small, medium and large. They come in two colors, black and white. Breathtaking!
