Switzerland is one of the most unique places I have ever been to. My husband actually warned me. He said – you will fall in love with the mountains there, and indeed they are enchanted. It feels like you are in a painting.
Walking the streets where people trust each other is very relaxing, a majority of the stores even leave their flowers and a lot of interior outside after they have closed. I love how they trust their system and everything around it.
These people are very active, on bike, running and doing a lot of sports, which I love. I also love how the children run around everywhere in this beautiful country, trying to talk to us in German. Everything here has a magical flow, and suddenly you become part of it.
Today I run some postcards from Cannes located on the stunning La Croisette, and here you can find amazing flagship shops one after the other, like all brands you can think of…. Completely crazy!! Well, lets just say you can find everything here. I will try to do some fun shopping tomorrow!!! We have checked into the hotel Majestic and I really like it here. The buildings are huge, bright and I must say I love there charming Frensh balconies.
My lovely husband, and his company, also today arranged a very well visited cocktail for the TV industry. It was really fun and glamorous, right by the pool on the terrace of the Majestic hotel.
The pictures are from various places my designer brain just had to take them at. Not just the beach, which you will find a million pictures from.

When designing a house, you cannot just think of the indoors; the outdoors is just as important for the overall impression of it.
In my earlier posts I wrote about my passion for contrast. There are so many different ways of defining contrast – contrast in colors, styles, textures, materials, elements, etc. So it’s all about getting right balance. If you use to much of lets say a color, then it might over power the other elements in the area/space.
For our house in Spain we choose white stones in the front garden, to give the house a cleaner look. Also the white stones creates a great contrast against the green grass.
I have been very busy with furnituring our Spanish house, which you will see in a future post, and I haven’t had the time to update you all on the blog.
Today however was an amazing day with my family and friends at the beach and I wanted to share the fantastic nature and beaches that exists up in northern Spain.
One special moment I wanted to share with you was tears of joy when I was running with my son from the waves. We kissed, hugged and laughed like crazy when the waves came, you know one of those moments you never forget and you take photos of with your eyes. I was almost acting like a three year old myself. You can see us walking back from it on the first picture.
With that being said, never take anything for granted so live in the moment.

Spain – I’m so inspired by you! You are truly beautiful, you are calm yet loud, you are colorfull and after so many years you still amaze me!
Thank you for being my therapist, a place I can find peace and calmness! A place were I can meditate!
So, what is therapy for me? It’s when I’m with my family, being in nature, being active and just do crazy stuff. Today I did all of the above.

We are on our way to Spain, more precisely Costa Brava. I really long for the sandy beeches and my early morning power walks.
I get big parts of my Interior design inspiration through traveling. I absorb so much from everything around me, the people, the environment, the culture, the food they eat and the color mix with the textures that surrounds me.
In the Costa Brava region there is so much culture and local interior decor gems. There are fantastic pottery houses, paintings, furniture and art exhibitions. I really get inspired by seeing people that really burns for their work, and in this region I see a lot of people really building their whole life around their crafts.
I will post several posts the next coming weeks when I visit some of these places.

Several years ago, I came across a gorgeous store in Stockholm called Spiti. Everything in this store caught my eye, but specially a brown-washed sliding barn door. It then crossed my mind that this door would be beautiful in any modern home. For example the barn door could separated the living room space from the adjoining room. Or you could even use the door as a table. Well, you can use it to almost everything. I love the contrast between rustic and raw compared to the chic and polished design. There’s something about the contrast that I think just works, modern and rustic, soft and rough.
The charm of this furniture is that each instance is unique and has its own history, also it feels just right in time to work with materials that are usually recycled!

Her name is Valia Gabriel and she started to design sandals in 2009. She is gourgous and a very talented designer who makes amazing and luxurious leather sandals with soft colors. They are handmade in Greece and her inspiration comes from Ancient Greek design. Her work is just fabulous.
I just ordered two pair of sandals and I can’t wait to wear them this summer.
